Snr Construction Modeller (Steel Detailer)

We are seeking a highly experienced structural steel modeller to join our team of highly motivated and friendly staff. We are offering a permanent full-time position with great working conditions and regular overtime. You will be engaged on an array of major mining, commercial and infrastructure projects with a business that prides itself on the delivery of fabrication models and drawings to the highest industry standards. Responsibilities will include:

• Create mechanical and structural models from Engineer’s designs.
• Create models utilising flexible project workflows from various design inputs including design assist, design models and design drawings.
• Identify technical issues and suggest solutions.
• Facilitate production of detail drawings for: technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy and the correct specification of materials and processes.
• Assist with promoting and developing a high level of engineering skills across the team, through participation in mentoring and group training activities where required.
• Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.
• Pursue ongoing education in the field.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience on Australian mining & industrial projects
• Modelling of structural, mechanical and platework models and drawings
• Good knowledge of Australian standards and fabrication principals
• Good computer skills and proficient with Advance Steel, Prosteel or Tekla

Qualifications:

Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Structural/Mechanical Engineering Drafting
