Our Trainees gain the introductory skills they need to learn how to turn engineering and design ideas into computer-generated 3D construction models – and the construction models into steel fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Introduction to cutting-edge software used for 3D modelling and detailing
- Familiarisation with working in the 3D space
- Introduction to layers, colours, line types, scales and abbreviations
- Detailing fittings and single parts, progressing to simple assembly drawings
- Introduction to project deliverables and deadlines

- Strong interest in construction and 3D construction models
- Good communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Willingness to build strong rapport with colleagues
Meet
Luciana Forli
I love design and I love learning new things – and in this role we never stop learning! As a trainee I’m learning how to model 3D structures in Tekla, making changes following the engineers’ direction and ensuring all the connections meet the standard drawings. Attention to detail, resilience to deal with challenges, keeping updated with the latest software and working as a team are all crucial to the role of a trainee. It’s surprised me how things can go wrong and go right at the same time. There’s always a solution for everything. Construction is the best field to work in if you want to grow.
